History of Ellicott

Many years ago, Ellicott was a huge expanse of farming pasture. The soil was very fertile and the rolling hills allowed cattle to expand during grazing.

However, this period of calm and bliss couldn't last forever. The soil became exhausted and the farmers moved west to salvage their income. Not every family was so fortunate as to be able to travel, so in order to save the area, mills were built.

The creation of mills also brought something else - the creation of many jobs. Little neighborhoods and homes sprung up around the city, prompting greater development. Eventually, an entire community existed on the northeastern hills, a place that came to be known as Ellicott.

Much of our history is steeped in myth and legend of ghost stories and haunted tales. To learn more, visit our page on it at Haunted Ellicott.
